General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS)
EADPP Certification Exam Package & Exam Retake

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (“GTCS”) govern the sale of the EADPP Certification for Data Protection Professionals Exam Package (“Exam Package”) and the EADPP Certification Exam Retake (“Exam Retake”) offered by Privacy Enablers (“Organiser”) to an individual candidate (“Candidate”). 

The GTCS are effective as of the purchase date of the Exam Package or Exam Retake.

By purchasing either product, the Candidate agrees to the following terms and conditions.

Sale details

  • The Sale includes digital products only.
  • Exam Package:
    • The Exam Package consists of:
      • One online exam (“EADPP Certification – Exam”).
      • Access to exam preparatory materials (“EADPP Certification – Preparatory Materials”), including the Syllabus, Candidate Handbook, and Study Book.
    • Upon successful completion of the exam (see Section “Exam passing grade”), the Candidate will:
      • Receive an EADPP certificate valid for three (3) years.
      • Be added to the CDPP Register.
      • Be authorised to use the title “EADPP Certified Data Protection Professional (CDPP).”
      • Receive a free EADPP membership for one (1) year.
      • Receive a free Certification Maintenance Fee, valid for three (3) years.
      • Become part of the Permanent Education Programme for recertification every three (3) years.
  • Exam Retake:
    • The Exam Retake consists of one additional attempt at the EADPP Certification Exam.
    • Please note that purchasing an Exam Retake without first purchasing the Exam Package will not grant access to the exam.
    • Upon successful completion of the exam (see Section “Exam passing grade”), the Candidate will receive the same benefits as the initial Exam Package.

Payments

  • Payments must be made through methods specified on the Privacy Enablers Stripe checkout page.
  • Exam Package:
    • Candidates can purchase the Exam Package through the Privacy Enablers website or one of its affiliates. 
    • Kindly note that the email address used during checkout via Stripe will serve as the username for the Privacy Enablers Certification Platform.
    • After successfully completing the purchase of the Exam Package, candidates will receive three emails:
      • An invoice and payment receipt;
      • A “Created new user profile” email, including credentials to log into the Certification Platform; and
      • An “Assigned to take the training course” email, confirming access to the exam preparatory materials (“EADPP Certification – Preparatory Materials”), including the Study Book.
  • Exam Retake:
    • The Exam Retake can only be purchased here. 
    • Please note that purchasing an Exam Retake without first purchasing the Exam Package will not grant access to the exam.
  • Candidates who fail to make payments will not receive access to the Exam Package or Exam Retake.

Enrolment & access

  • Once all necessary payments for the Exam Package or Exam Retake have been completed, the candidate will automatically be granted access to the exam.
  • Please note that purchasing an Exam Retake without first purchasing the Exam Package will not grant access to the exam.

Exam modalities

  • The exam and its associated materials are only available in English.
  • The exam consists of 40 questions to be completed within 120 minutes.

Exam passing grade

  • A minimum score of 28 out of 40 (70%) is required to pass the exam.
  • Candidates who do not achieve this required passing grade can purchase an Exam Retake (see Section “Exam retake policy”).

Exam completion window

  • Exam Package:
    • Candidates must complete their initial exam within six (6) months of purchase.
  • Exam Retake:
    • Candidates must complete an Exam Retake within three (3) months of purchase.
  • If the exam is not completed within these timeframes, a new Exam Retake can be purchased (see Section “Exam retake policy”).

Exam retake policy

  • Retakes can only be purchased if the Candidate:
    • Fails to achieve the passing grade (see Section “Exam passing grade”).
    • Does not complete the exam within the required timeframe (see Section “Exam completion window”).
  • An Exam Retake can only be purchased here.

Cancellations & refunds

  • Candidates may cancel their purchase within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of purchase, provided that neither the exam (“EADPP Certification – Exam”) nor the exam preparatory materials (“EADPP Certification – Preparatory Materials”) has been accessed or initiated by the Candidate.
  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] and include proof of purchase.
  • Refunds will be processed within fourteen (14) days of approval.
  • Privacy Enablers is not responsible for third-party payment processor delays.

Privacy, data protection & security

  • Privacy Enablers processes personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Personal data will be collected solely for exam administration, certification issuance, and compliance purposes.
  • Personal data will not be sold, traded, or leased to third parties.
  • Candidates can refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information about data processing and protection.

Use of the Study Book

  • The Study Book provided as part of the Exam Package is intended solely for personal learning purposes.
  • The Study Book may not be copied, forwarded, shared, reproduced, or distributed in any form without the explicit written consent of the authors. Unauthorized use, duplication, or distribution of the Study Book is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

Exam integrity & confidentiality

  • To ensure the absolute integrity and security of the exam, the following measures will be implemented:
    • Verification of identification, including biometric data, in compliance with applicable data protection regulations (see Section “Privacy, data protection & security”).
    • Monitoring via microphone, webcam, and screen.
    • A proctor and/or AI-driven programs will be used for monitoring purposes, ensuring transparency and fairness in line with data protection standards (see Section “Privacy, data protection & security”).
  • Personal data collected during the exam monitoring process will be securely deleted within 30 calendar days after the exam date, unless required for legal or regulatory purposes or if the exam has been flagged for potential fraud.
    • Privacy Enablers reserves the right to investigate flagged exams for potential fraud.
    • The outcome of the investigation will be shared with the Candidate within thirty (30) calendar days after the exam date.
    • If a Candidate’s exam is flagged, their personal data will be preserved for the duration of the ongoing investigation. Personal data collected during the exam monitoring process will be securely deleted within 30 calendar days after the investigation is concluded, unless required for legal or regulatory purposes or if an appeal has been submitted by the Candidate.
    • If fraud is confirmed, the Candidate’s results may be invalidated, withheld, or nullified.
    • The Candidate retains the right to appeal investigation outcomes by submitting a written appeal to [email protected] within 30 calendar days of the decision.
  • The Candidate endorses the Candidate Confidentiality Agreement. In doing so, the Candidate comprehends, acknowledges, and confirms that:
    • All exam questions, answers, and related materials are the exclusive and confidential property of Privacy Enablers, protected by intellectual property laws.
    • They will not share, disclose, or discuss any exam questions, answers, or materials with anyone without prior written permission from Privacy Enablers.
    • They will not use exam materials for any purpose unless explicitly authorised by Privacy Enablers.
    • They will not copy, attempt to copy, or reproduce any part of the exam, including questions or answers.
    • They will not sell, share, license, or obtain exam materials, questions, or answers from any source other than Privacy Enablers.
    • They agree that these obligations remain in effect permanently, even after the exam is completed or the Certification ends, regardless of the circumstances.
    • They understand that unauthorized use or disclosure of exam content may cause significant harm to Privacy Enablers. Privacy Enablers reserves the right to pursue legal action to prevent or address any unauthorized use or disclosure, in addition to other available remedies.
    • Candidates found violating this Confidentiality Agreement may have their EADPP Certification revoked, with no refund issued.

Code of conduct

  • The Candidate agrees to adhere to the EADPP Certified Data Protection Professional Code of Professional Conduct. In doing so, the Candidate comprehends, acknowledges, and confirms that:
    • They pledge to conduct their business and professional activities with courtesy, honesty, and integrity.
    • They commit to truthfully represent their EADPP Certification and qualifications, and to only engage only in activities they are qualified to perform, with the necessary skills and competence.
    • They agree not to misrepresent their EADPP Certification or use it in a manner that could damage the reputation of EADPP or Privacy Enablers.
    • They will actively work to improve their professional knowledge and skills through self-assessment, ongoing education, and training.
    • In case of Certification suspension, will not use the Certification seal, marks, or associated designations.
    • In case of Certification revocation, they will return their certificate and immediately stop using the Certification seals, marks, or designations.
    • They will adhere to all policies, procedures, guidelines, and requirements related to the Certification, as provided by EADPP and Privacy Enablers, which may be revised from time to time.

Severability

If any provision of these GTCS is found invalid, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Governing law

  • These GTCS are governed by the laws of Belgium.
  • Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.

Entire agreement

  • These GTCS constitute the entire agreement between Privacy Enablers and the Candidate.
  • By purchasing the Exam Package or Exam Retake, the Candidate confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed these GTCS.
